Movement is incorporated throughout the school day for all children at Beginnings. Children also participate in yoga or movement instruction in small groups either in the classroom or in the studio once a week. These classes provide an opportunity for the children to practice yoga poses that build strength, balance and flexibility and demonstrates breathing techniques that help regulate stress and emotion. Yoga is taught in a fun, imaginative way where the children pretend to be different types of animals in far off locales. This collaborative adventure culminates in a final rest or relaxation period which overall helps increase focus, mind/body awareness and self regulation skills. We feel it is important for children to exercise their bodies as well as foster their social and emotional growth.

Creative movement is a dynamic and expressive form of physical activity that encourages students to explore their bodies, emotions, and imagination through spontaneous and artistic movement. Movement classes strengthen fine and gross motor skills through diverse techniques including dance, yoga, physical education, group play, and more. With our expert guidance, children are empowered to co-create these movement classes, harnessing their boundless creativity and resulting in a collaborative and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
